Hi, I'm moving some things in the garage out of the way. Big project today and we need to make a little room to get some of the items we'll need. Posted by Picasa

We've pulled the rocks out here along the driveway, I thought it looked kind of goofy. In it's place, I'm going to plant some grass. I've signed up my dad to help. First step is to determine the quality of the soil. Posted by Picasa

Hmm. Grass will probably grow in this soil. I'd like something a little richer, some black dirt if possible. Plus, the ground could be built up a little higher, maybe level it with the driveway. Posted by Picasa

Yep, we're going to need a little more dirt. Posted by Picasa

Quit playin' up to the camera Dad, let's get our equipment and get this show on the road. You should really try sucking in that gut. Posted by Picasa

Our digging tools. Posted by Picasa

We'll fill up the wheelbarrow to about right here, do you see my mark? Posted by Picasa

Yeah, I think grass over there will look better than those silly white rocks. Posted by Picasa

Steady, driver, there's a slight decline coming up here. Posted by Picasa

Dad, let's check where you've been digging under the deck. Posted by Picasa

Yes, Dad, stop right here. That dirt looks rich enough to use. Posted by Picasa

My scoop, hand-crafted, aluminum construction for lightness. Real handy for transferring the grass seed. Posted by Picasa

My planting buckets. I recommend to pour your grass seeds from the bag into a pail, both for easier movement, and so that you can get a consistent handful when spreading the seed. Posted by Picasa

It looks like there's just enough seed in here for thorough coverage. Posted by Picasa

Sunflower seeds? Must've been a little left in the pail from filling the bird feeders. Posted by Picasa

I sift through the seeds by hand to ensure that only the best get planted. Posted by Picasa

Need to drag me a little more hose, and we're going to water the lawn, paying special attention to make sure the grass closest to the driveway gets a little extra to prevent burn. Posted by Picasa

You see, you have to get a good spray going to apply a generous soaking. Posted by Picasa

What else can we do? Posted by Picasa

Well, it's up to Mother Nature now. Posted by Picasa
